Glavkosmos offers its foreign customers a wide range of space solutions in Earth observation, telecommunication systems, and scientific experiments. These solutions include production of satellites of various applications, launch services, space systems operation, receiving and processing of satellite data, personnel training, and coordination of all the said processes.

Satellite production
Earth observation satellites (Kondor -E), telecommunication satellites on Express-1000 bus, and Foton/Bion scientific satellites, produced by Russian leading scientific centers, are highly competitive in the world market.
Launch services
The developed ground infrastructure (Vostochny, Baikonur, and Plesetsk Space Centers) and available capacities for production of launch vehicles enable Glavkosmos to provide customers with a full range of launch services.

The space flight operation facility is fitted with the most up-to-date equipment.
Data receiving stations
Glavkosmos provides services in installing ground stations for data receiving as part of a customer’s program.
Glavkosmos provides consulting services in regard to equipment operating and data processing. In addition to that, Glavkomos arranges special training on work with satellites: satellite adaptation to the launch vehicle; satellite launch and injection on the target orbit; satellite operation during the flight; data receiving and processing.


Kondor-E is a radar satellite for Earth observation. It is produced by the JCS “Military and industrial corporation JSC “MIC “Mashinostroyenia”. The first Kondor-E launch was conducted on June 27, 2013. The satellite provides the Earth imaging with the resolution up to 1 meter.

Kondor-E is designed for receiving, storage and transmission of the high-resolution Earth observation data in the microwave band of electromagnetic radiation spectrum. The synthetic aperture radar (SAR) ensures the round-the-clock and all-weather imaging of the Earth surface.

The unique advantage of the SAR – is improved imaging. Kondor-E with SAR is equipped with the high-resolution radar (up to 1 meter). The use of the expanded portable dish antenna of the umbrella type ensures the SAR high sensitivity.

Express – 1000

Express-1000 is a modern satellite platform produced by the Russian company JSC “Academician M.F. Reshetnev Information Satellite Systems”. This platform allows creating the telecommunication satellites (up to 2,200 kg) on its base for television broadcasting, Internet, telephony.

Express-1000 has already been used for Russian and foreign satellites operation.


Bion-M is an automated space laboratory for the experiments in space biology, physiology and biotechnologies. It is produced by JSC “SRC “Progress” (Russia). The first Bion launch was conducted in 1973. The launch of the new Bion-M №1 version was conducted on April 19, 2013

Bion missions were performed on various biological specimens at different levels of evolutionary development, such us unicellular algae, tissues cultures, lower and higher plants, insects, fish, amphibians, turtles, rats, rhesus monkeys, in total amounting to 37 species.

Main objectives of the experiments conducted on Bion-M:
Accumulating the experimental data concerning in-flight and post-flight effects upon various biological systems. The study of space diseases and traumatic injuries. The use of the data to improve the human safety in space.
Search for the solutions to theoretical and applied problems of space biology and general biology. The technology of obtaining the ultra-pure bioactive substances in microgravity.
Study of the biological effects of space radiations, its spectrum and doses. The influence of microgravity and ionizing radiation in doses typical for the flights beyond the Earth radiation belts;
Development of the advanced pharmaceuticals, including the effective preventive measures against the negative effects of the long-term microgravity influence.


Foton-M is used for the scientific programs in physics of zero gravity, the development of the semiconductors production. It is produced by JSC “SRC “Progress” (Russia). The launch of the new Foton-M №4 version was conducted on July 19, 2014.

Main objectives of the experiments conducted on Foton-M:
Research in the physical-technical basis of space technology and manufacturing into the space. Research in the physics of liquids, and also in the changes in geological material while meteorite falling;
Test of the processes and systems. Research in getting electricity with electrogenic microorganisms in zero gravity;
Obtaining materials and substances in space flight conditions. Getting the big-sized crystals for industrial applications;
Development of the unique alloys and crystal structures on orbit manufacturing. Growing of semiconductor crystals.
International collaboration

The medico-biological experiments were conducted in collaboration with the scientific centers of the United States, Germany, Canada, the Netherlands, Poland and other countries. The process of the foreign hardware installation has been successfully worked through with the Bion and Foton spacecraft. The long-term agreements were concluded with the French National Space Agency (CNES), European Space Agency (Foton spacecraft), National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) (Bion spacecraft).
