Glavkosmos organized the launch of 42 small spacecraft from the Vostochny Cosmodrome

VOSTOCHNY, June 27. – The Soyuz-2.1b launch vehicle with the Fregat upper stage was launched from the Vostochny Cosmodrome on Tuesday, at 14:34 Moscow time, the rocket successfully injected into orbit the satellite Meteor-M No. 2-3 as the main payload and 42 small spacecraft as a rideshare payload. Today's launch has set the record for the number of Russian  spacecraft simultaneously launched from Vostochny; all satellites have been launched into target orbits.

Glavkosmos (part Roscosmos) acted as the launch service provider for the rideshare payload. Moreover, the company managed the general organization and coordination of the activities of the Russian space industry enterprises and those of the small spacecraft manufacturers and customers at all stages of the launch preparation of the rideshare payload.

The launch of 16 educational university CubeSats of the Space PI project within the 'Planet Attendant' program was provided under the contract of Glavkosmos and the Foundation for the Promotion of Innovations. Nine SmallSats were launched under the UniverSat program, which is a project of Roscosmos for launching small spacecraft for educational and scientific purposes. Seventeen more small spacecraft were launched for the benefit of Russian and foreign commercial customers.
